Today's Roadblocks are Tomorrow's Reminders - Pastor Joey Burns (09.18.2016)

Joshua 4:4-9
Then Joshua called the twelve men, whom he had prepared of the children of Israel, out of every tribe a man:
And Joshua said unto them, Pass over before the ark of the Lord your God into the midst of Jordan, and take you up every man of you a stone upon his shoulder, according unto the number of the tribes of the children of Israel:
That this may be a sign among you, that when your children ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What mean ye by these stones?
Then ye shall answer them, That the waters of Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the Lord; when it passed over Jordan, the waters of Jordan were cut off: and these stones shall be for a memorial unto the children of Israel for ever.
And the children of Israel did so as Joshua commanded, and took up twelve stones out of the midst of Jordan, as the Lord spake unto Joshua, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Israel, and carried them over with them unto the place where they lodged, and laid them down there.
And Joshua set up twelve stones in the midst of Jordan, in the place where the feet of the priests which bare the ark of the covenant stood: and they are there unto this day

"Through every trial, through every sickness, hardship, and trouble that we go through in our life, there's something we need to gain through hardships. The scars are there to be a reminder of what God has done for you and in our lives."
"I'm not going to get stuck behind a roadblock! When the enemy puts one up, if God doesn't make it fall down flat, He will make a way for us to go around it."
"We need to know that we can make it through whatever it is as long as we walk hand in hand with Jesus Christ!"
"It's time for us to make up our minds and settle in our hearts that we are going to reach the other side, that we are going to make it!"
"We can't follow Him unless we allow Him to be in front of us."
"Make sure Jesus Christ is leading you in the way you are going and what you are saying."

Give it to God - Associate Pastor Brad Stevens (09.14.2016)

Psalm 55:22
Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved

"Sometimes bad things happen to good people and sometimes good things happen to bad people. Sometimes the devil will confront us head on but never allow your circumstances overcome you. Bad circumstances will bring worry, fear, and cause you to fret and if you're not careful, before you know it, you will be overcome with all these things and you will be stifled."
"God knows our situation, he has never left us alone. There is nothing too hard for The Lord and we, as the people of God, need to stand firm and stand strong. Even when week after week, month after month, year after year goes by and the promise doesn't come, hold on to God. Don't let fear take over, don't let worry take over! One way or the other He will lift you up. He will encourage you! One way or the other He will make things right. God is a good God!"
"It's not wrong to wonder when God is going to step in and change your situation. What is wrong, is to allow yourself to doubt and entertain thoughts of unbelief because when you do, you are not giving God that situation."
"God did not design you to carry burdens. Burdens are for us to give to God."
"It is not God's will for us to live 365 days a year with our heads hung down. I believe it's the will of God for us to live in victory and carry a light load!"
-Brad Stevens

Matthew 11:28-30
28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
